What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Substitute Teacher position at Legacy Academy?
We are looking for an individual who loves Jesus and enjoys working with little ones. Our preschool substitute teachers will be responsible for facilitating a warm and loving environment where our students can thrive and learn while their core teacher is out.
Responsibilities
- Care and teach your preschool students that are in your care
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
- Implement standard of care as directed by our Preschool Director in your classroom
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Collaborate with other educators in our preschool.
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Requirements
- Be a committed follower of Jesus and be able to sign off on our Statement of Faith
- Pass a Federal Background Check
- Be able to lift 50 pounds
Hours vary from 8hrs a week to 40 hours a week depending on the needs of coverage. Subs have the ability to pick and choose which dates and times they are available to cover!
