Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, and planting to ensure lush, healthy lawns and gardens
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper care and health management
- Manage pest control procedures using pesticide management techniques in accordance with safety protocols
- Maintain hardscape features like pathways, patios, and retaining walls to uphold aesthetic standards
- Conduct tree trimming and tree care activities to promote safety and growth
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and injuries
Experience
- Proven outdoor work experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping roles preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including plant identification, lawn care, and gardening techniques
- Experience with irrigation systems installation and repair is a plus
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and pesticide management best practices
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or snow plowing equipment is advantageous
- Construction or hardscape experience can be beneficial for specialized projects
