Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY
Provide leadership, direction and coordination of maintenance, production control, materials and maintenance engineering activities. Provide leadership and accountability for safety, quality, delivery and cost by meeting corporate and departmental goals and initiatives. Must actively participate in 5s, continuous improvement, employee involvement and equal employment opportunities. Must be able to utilize lean concepts, strategies and get operator buy in and support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES– Duties may include:
1. Establishes, coordinates and oversees contractors/vendors related to building, equipment, and sanitation fields.
2. May recommend purchases, cost savings measures, and assists with the development of the budget; may be responsible for inventory control.
3. Hires, trains, manage and directs the work of the plant maintenance team and maintenance schedules.
4. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment, maintains records of preventative maintenance schedules, and SDS sheets to meet manufactures warranty and guidelines.
5. Coordinates work performed by outside vendors.
6. Provide Leadership and direction of the workforce.
7. Participation in the organization and execution of all systems and processes required to reduce cost, improve quality, and deliver throughout company.
8. Monitor process and product quality for compliance to standards that meet or exceed customer expectations.
9. Present proposals to peers and management.
10. Develop cost savings proposals.
11. Perform Corrective and Preventative Problem Analysis.
12. Analyze and recommend future requirements related to manpower, machinery, tooling, equipment and floor space.
13. Maintain clean, organized, and safe worksite following PPS 5s guidelines emphasis on quality, safety, and cross functional team training.
14. Participation on appropriate cross functional teams.
15. Participate in planning and budget preparation.
16. Assist in implementing employee involvement in HR request and continuous improvement.
17. Ensure weekly standard work is completed to allow for successful support of value stream
18. Assist and maintain the optimum inventory levels of critical equipment and tools.
19. Assist other departments to resolve all product issues to protect the manufacturing floor.
20. Assists as directed in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, such as; plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, steam system, automatic temperature control, and electrical.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be familiar with the fiberglass process procedures and quality requirements.
  • Knowledge and skill is acquired through working experience or on-the-job training. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Solid understanding of lean material flow and the production processes.
  • Ability to motivate people and must be viewed as a clear and credible communicator.
  • Ability to work in high stress situations.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to organize and priority projects.
  • Technical knowledge in electrical systems
  • Technical knowledge in mechanical drive systems, fluid power systems, mixing systems, data acquisition, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for reliability performance and cost improvement
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Associates , Technical Degree or Previous Functional Experience (Preferred)
  • Functional Experience 2 - 5 Years
  • Describe Experience Required: Large scale manufacturing
  • Management Experience 2 - 5 Years
LANGUAGE SKILLS
This employee needs the ability to read and verbally communicate in English.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and hearing protection may be required. The fumes/gases are moderate to severe. The environment may become warm to hot upon occasion.
