Job Overview
Position Summary:
Leem Filtration is seeking a hands-on, safety-conscious Working Lead-Person to support and guide operations within our Filter Cleaning Shop in Broussard, LA. This role is responsible for overseeing daily shop activities, ensuring quality and efficiency in cleaning operations, and serving as a working team lead who sets the pace by example.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in daily industrial filter cleaning operations, including chemical handling and mechanical processing.
- Supervise and mentor a small team of shop technicians, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards.
- Collaborate with managers to coordinate workflow, allocate labor, and maintain job priorities.
- Train new employees in safety protocols, proper equipment use, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor inventory levels of chemicals, parts, and PPE; communicate needs in advance to avoid delays.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records using ERP software.
- Perform quality checks and ensure that cleaned components meet company and customer specifications.
- Support compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate logistics for occasional off-site or international service assignments as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments including customer service, maintenance, and engineering.
- Report equipment issues and lead by example in fostering a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment; exposure to chemical processing is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with prior supervisory or team lead experience.
- Overhead crane experience a huge plus.
- Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted and work in a physically demanding environment.
- No driving restrictions.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally, for short-term field service or training engagements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Infor, a plus.
Preferred Attributes:
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Overhead crane experience.
- Knowledge of filtration or process equipment a plus.
- OSHA or industrial safety training certifications preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
