Senior Project Accountant – Real Estate Development / Construction
We’re looking for a Senior Project Accountant with experience in real estate development or construction. This role helps keep projects on track by monitoring progress, reviewing costs, handling billing, and making sure payments come in on time. If you enjoy working with project teams and keeping finances organized from start to finish, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Do:
- Set up new projects in the accounting system
- Manage and approve access to project accounts
- Oversee the movement of expenses into and out of each project
- Review and approve vendor invoices and project-related timesheets
- Approve overhead charges assigned to each project
- Review project financial totals, assets, and expenses
- Look into any budget or cost differences and share findings with management
- Work with the AR team to follow up on outstanding billing
- Update management on project profitability and billing opportunities
- Track remaining project funding and keep leadership informed
- Prepare and approve customer billing for each project
- Identify any unbilled project costs and resolve issues
- Answer customer questions and provide additional detail when needed
- Approve write-offs for any project charges that cannot be billed or collected
- Close out projects once they're completed
- Prepare required government reports or tax filings
- Gather information for internal and external audits
Qualifications
- Bachelors in business or related field
- Able to go into the office
- Strong communication skills and able to partner with internal and external departments
- Strong technical skills with strong use of Excel, Yardi and other accounting platforms
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
