General Description
The Sales Application Engineer is a customer-facing, technically focused role, based in our new Santa Monica offices, responsible for generating new business and expanding existing accounts by delivering value-based spring and formed wire solutions tailored to customer applications. This position serves as a technical partner to customers—supporting spring design, estimation, and quotation—while also acting as a key liaison between sales, engineering, and operations to ensure manufacturable, cost-effective, and high-performance solutions.
Scope
Sales Application Engineers work directly with customer engineering and purchasing teams to evaluate applications involving force, motion, fatigue resistance, and durability. The role spans the full project lifecycle—from application review and concept development through design, technical estimation, quoting, prototyping, validation, and production launch. Internally, this position supports engineering and operations with new program introductions, analytics-driven problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Salary Range
Full Time / On-Site Role: $60k - $85k with benefits (401k, Medical, Dental, Vision, Vacation & PTO’s)
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Sales Engineering and Sales techniques
- Strong background in Technical Support and excellent problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles
- Understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on-site in Santa Monica and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Experience working in manufacturing sectors, such as aerospace, medical, or robotics, is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sales, or a related field is preferred
