Description: The head coach is responsible for planning, managing and directing the entire 9-12 grade Lee's Summit HS Cheer team program. Specific shall include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Coaching the varsity cheer team.
- Coordinating with administration to hire assistant coaches
- Directing and supervising assistant cheer coaches
- Managing all aspects of the program including practicing, competing, providing off-season improvement opportunities to include strength and conditioning and full usage of contact days
- Marketing and promoting the cheer program
- Coaching, guiding, and providing feedback to student athletes
- Scouting opponents
- Managing a fiscally sound budget
- Monitoring class schedules, grades and student-athlete academic progress, and intervening where appropriate.
- Responsible for cheer student-athlete retention
- Articulation with the feeder middle school program
- Providing summer camp opportunities for elementary students
