Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at the front desk
- Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes
- Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing through medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Manage medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
- Maintain clinic operations by managing patient intake, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix
- Proficiency in medical billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and documentation review processes
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding standards, and healthcare compliance (HIPAA)
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations are highly desirable
- Prior clinic or dental office experience with medical administrative support and office management skills
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with effective phone etiquette and multi-tasking abilities
