Job Summary
Lee's Firewood is looking for a hard-working, dependable Firewood Stacker & Yard Worker to join our team for the upcoming busy season! This is a physical, fast-paced outdoor job perfect for individuals who enjoy manual labor, working with their hands, and staying active. You will assist in keeping our yard organized, processing firewood, and riding along with our delivery drivers to efficiently stack wood at local homes and commercial properties within our 50-mile radius.
No prior experience is required—we will fully train you on safety and technique.
Pay & Compensation Starting Rate: $16.00 per hour for the first 90 days. 90-Day Milestone: Successful completion of your 90-day probation period unlocks an automatic performance review and a clear path to a wage increase (up to $17.50 /hr) based on reliability, physical efficiency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Firewood Stacking: Accurately and neatly sort and stack split wood into designated storage crates, or delivery trucks/trailers.
Ride-Along Delivery Help: Join delivery drivers on delivery runs to assist in off-loading and stacking firewood neatly at customer properties.
Yard Maintenance: Sorting processed wood for excellent product, work with the team to process wood daily to keep up with the demand, load customer vehicles with orders, and ensure a safe, organized workspace daily.
Help maintain the business exterior and interior. Work on projects to improve the day to day business. You may not always split wood, sometimes we have to fix equipment, clean up the yard and organize the business to help run better.
Equipment Assistance: assist heavy machinery operators to keep production moving safely. Weekly equipment maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements Heavy Lifting Required: Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, and stacking wood pieces ranging from 10 to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an 8-hour shift.
Outdoor Work Environment: Must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (peak winter cold and hot weather processing days).
Dependability: You must have reliable transportation to our yard in Huntersville and a strong track record of showing up on time.
Safety First Mindset: Ability to follow instructions closely around heavy hydraulic log splitters, commercial processors, and skid steers.
Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
