Position Summary: LEE Industries is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, Security, & Environmental Manager (HSSE) to lead safety initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts at a dynamic manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for implementing and overseeing site-specific HSSE programs while ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and sustain site-specific HSSE programs in alignment with corporate policies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, and local/state EHS regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and facility inspections.
- Oversee audits, regulatory inspections, and maintain documentation.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions through root cause analysis.
- Deliver or coordinate training programs including:
- New Hire Safety Orientation
- STOP Program
- PPE, LOTO, HazCom, Ergonomics, Forklift Certification, etc.
- Maintain accurate records: SDSs, chemical inventories, OSHA logs.
- Submit regulatory reports including hazardous waste manifests and OSHA 300/301.
- Lead emergency preparedness and serve as on-site HSSE lead during incidents.
- Oversee site security and collaborate with vendors for alarm/surveillance systems.
- Track and report on key safety metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as liaison with local emergency services and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of progressive HSSE experience in manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with developing compliance systems in growth-oriented organizations.
- Effective at managing diverse employee groups.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- BCSP, ABIH, or IHMM certifications preferred.
- OSHA certifications strongly desired.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in adult learning principles and delivering training sessions.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build cross-functional relationships.
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
Travel & Physical Requirements:
- Local travel: 10–20%
- Occasional evening/weekend work may be required.
- Frequent presence in production facilities; must adhere to PPE and safety guidelines.
- Physical demands include walking, standing, lifting (<50 lbs), and navigating a manufacturing environment.
