What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Auditor position at Lee Enterprises?
Lee Enterprises is looking for a Staff Auditor to join our Finance team. The Staff Auditor will be responsible for participating in organizational audit projects, which may include financial, operational, compliance, or information technology audit programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit the organization's internal operations as directed by leadership.
- Document and evaluate internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (including Sarbanes-Oxley), and identify business risks.
- Review financial transactions or reports for accuracy.
- Recommend new or modified procedures that improve efficiency or compliance and mitigate risk or loss.
- Draft audit reports and maintain records of audit findings.
- Cooperate with independent auditors and provide data in support of external audits as needed.
Experience and Education
- Perform work under general supervision.
- Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff or managers.
- Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
- Proven leadership skills a plus.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 0 to 4 years of experience.
