Responsibilities
- Operate underground construction equipment with skill and safety awareness, including trenchers, excavators, and specialized pipeline machinery.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute project tasks.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets specifications, safety standards (OSHA), and client requirements.
- Support budgeting efforts by tracking equipment usage, materials, and labor costs for project accounting.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and supervisors to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and adapt plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols by conducting site inspections with tools such as an ohmmeter and adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Assist in managing contracts and procurement processes related to equipment and materials for underground projects.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment within underground or pipeline projects.
- Strong background in construction site management with supervisory or supervising experience preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards specific to underground construction environments.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating, budgeting, quality control procedures, and contract management.
- Demonstrated competence in project scheduling and managing multiple tasks simultaneously on active sites.
- Practical experience reading schematics and using testing tools such as ohmmeters for quality assurance purposes.
