JOB DESCRIPTION
DRUG SCREENER
Definition of Work
Responsible for the collection of urine samples from same gender individuals and interpreting results of instant tests. Will also be responsible for maintaining chain-of-custody and preparing positive test result specimens for shipment to laboratory for confirmation testing.
Examples of Work Performed:
1. Accompany clients into restroom during collection of urine
2. Observe collection of urine sample into specimen bottle
3. Follow chain-of-custody procedures
4. Send specimen samples to independent labs for further testing
5. Maintains log of all samples
6. Interpret instant test results; report test results to appropriate parties
7. Prepare written reports and records on an ongoing basis
8. Maintain inventory and orders supplies
9. Maintain files and records
10. May be called to testify in court.
11. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality

3. Applying an acquired knowledge of procedures, rules, regulations and services applicable to the assigned office
4. Manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneously
5. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, specimen donors, and others, such as referral sources
6. Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

9. Maintain confidentiality pursuant to federal and state laws
Desirable Education and Experience
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience: General work experience preferred, but not required.
