About the Role
The Courts and Official Records Department is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Entry-Level Clerk to support essential court operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys structured work, excels in data entry, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in accuracy and professionalism. You’ll play a key part in case initiation, data entry, and customer service—helping ensure our court processes run smoothly and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
As an Entry-Level Clerk, you will support daily court operations by handling a variety of administrative and case-processing tasks, including:
Opening and distributing incoming work to the appropriate clerks or destinations
Initiating cases in Odyssey
Processing filings for Court Unified Family, including:
Accepting new and subsequent filings through the portal
Completing follow-up steps for portal and paper filings
Performing data entry for assigned queues and meeting hourly performance standards
Answering telephone inquiries and providing customer service support
Prioritizing workload to meet time standards
Communicating promptly and professionally with employees, agencies, and the public
Reporting issues, concerns, or needs to the Lead Clerk or Supervisor
Assisting with other duties or special projects as assigned
Strong sequential filing, keyboarding, and data entry skills
Proficiency in business English and math
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly—both verbally and in writing
Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and effective interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact in sensitive situations
Comfort working with minimal supervision
Proficiency with PCs, printers, and standard office equipment
Ability to work extended hours when needed

- High School diploma or equivalent required
- One year of clerical experience or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties
- Banking experience preferred
