CLASS A CDL OPERATOR
Lee Construction, Inc. a family owned, and managed excavating, heavy hauling contractor is seeking a Class A CDL operator.
General Summary:
This position is responsible for operating a semi -tractor, with side dump trailer, making pick-ups and deliveries with in a 150 radius of Glenwood, IA. Must be organized, detailed and comfortable working independently. General work week is Monday through Saturday, 7 am to 5pm. Hours will vary depending on assignment/project. No overnight travel required. A clean commercial driving record is a must.
Responsibilities:
Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
Drive vehicles with a GVW of up to 80,000 lbs.
Ensure contents are properly loaded and covered when required.
Obtain signatures when required and fully complete paperwork.
Perform inspection of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, tire pressure, etc.)
Notify manager of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs - track and report working hours.
Adhere to company rules and regulations.
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance to weather/road conditions.
Comply with DOT regulations.
Always make safety a priority.
Qualifications:
Valid commercial driver license (Class A CDL).
Clean driving record - no moving violations.
Must pass a pre-employment physical with drug and alcohol screen.
Skilled at driving and parking large heavy deliveries.
Stay alert and always focused.
Possess great physical and mental stamina and focus during long trips.
