Job Description
Title: Shop Fabricator for Architectural Metal and Glass Project
Reports To: Contract Division manager
Location: Lee & Cates Glass Contract Division
This person is responsible for working with the shop crew, project managers, shop and field labor associated with all commercial storefront and curtain wall projects. This individual would be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fabrication. Extruded aluminum screwed together into frames for storefront.
Accountability Functions Include:
- Ability to meet all assigned company objectives.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of equipment and curtainwall fabrication procedures.
- Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and react to these appropriately.
- Strong organizational skills to deal with competing customer needs.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record in good standing.
- Maintain quality workmanship.
- Maintain a strong work ethic.
- Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Receive aluminum and inspect materials
- Cut material per cut list provided by client or C.A.P.
- Fabricate storefront frames assembled per approved shop drawings and manufacturers fabrication manual. Mark storefront frames according to drawings.
- Fabricate curtain wall frames assembled per approved shop drawings and manufacturers fabrication manual. Mark storefront frames according to drawings.
- (Storefront) Butter joints and screw storefront frames together. Install endams at intermediate horizontals and seal. Insert gasket in one side of frames and leave long. Mark frames per customer schedule.
- (Curtain Wall) Attach sheer blocks to curtain wall vertical mullions. Weep pressure plates as required.
- Package per agreed upon loading sequence that will resist damage.
