What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mathematics and Social Studies Teacher - Grades 1-3 position at Lee Academy for Gifted Education?
Join our small, private school in an idyllic lakeside setting serving gifted and advanced students. We are seeking an enthusiastic and imaginative Mathematics and Social Studies teacher for grades 1-3 to teach in our close knit school community. Our school offers a unique educational experience where curiosity, independence and a genuine love of learning are at the height of school life. We have small classes (6-9) and a more individualized approach and are looking for a teacher who can inspire students to see mathematics and social studies not just as subjects to be mastered but as tools for understanding and engaging with the rest of the world.
You will be a well-qualified, experienced, creative, thoughtful, and adaptable educator, comfortable in departing from a rigid teaching formula when a different approach better serves our gifted and advanced learners. You will be willing to go beyond the everyday to challenge and extend the students and will have a flexible teaching style that responds to individual students and their learning needs.
This is an opportunity to become part of a small and supportive school community where teachers have the freedom to teach creatively and where relationships matter. If you love your subject, enjoy working with exceptional young minds and believe the best learning happens when students are encouraged to think, question, solve and apply, then we would love to hear from you.
The job start date is October 5th.
Salary : $52,000 - $56,000
