Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
- Handle laundry tasks including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and guest clothing with care and efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and specialized floor care techniques to ensure safety and appearance standards are met
- Safely operate cleaning machinery such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines
- Manage custodial supplies inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling of chemical agents in compliance with safety protocols
- Follow hotel housekeeping management procedures including sanitation standards, emergency protocols, and customer service best practices
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to linen carts or cleaning equipment as needed while observing manual handling safety procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness standards
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques, janitorial practices, and hotel emergency procedures
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by understanding chemical handling protocols and SDS information
- Skilled in floor cleaning methods including floor care techniques for various surfaces
- Competent in operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and other janitorial tools
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and prolonged periods of standing or walking in a hospitality setting
