Staff Accountant

Our client, a growing construction company, is seeking a Staff Accountant with construction industry experience to support day‑to‑day accounting operations. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who understands job costing, project accounting, and construction financial processes and is looking to grow within a stable organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month‑end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate job cost records and support project accounting
• Track and reconcile work‑in‑progress (WIP) schedules
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable related to projects
• Review invoices, lien waivers, subcontractor payments, and change orders
• Support revenue recognition and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
• Prepare financial reports for management and project teams
• Assist with audits, budgeting, and forecasts as needed
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-4 years of accounting experience (construction industry strongly preferred)
• Experience with job costing and project accounting
• Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, QuickBooks)
• Strong Excel skills
