Job Overview

We’re seeking a seasoned Director of Product Development to lead the creation and evolution of our consumer product portfolio. This is a high-impact role for a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who understands the full product lifecycle—from early-stage concept through launch and beyond.

In this role, you’ll help shape the future of our product offerings by conducting in-depth consumer and market research, developing robust business cases, guiding product design, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing partners, and leading cross-functional go-to-market initiatives. You’ll also play a key role in defining channel strategies that support brand growth and ensure the right products are delivered to the right markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Lead the development of comprehensive product roadmaps that align with company goals, customer needs, and long-term channel growth strategies.
• Conduct and synthesize market, competitive, and consumer research to identify new product opportunities and optimize the existing portfolio.
• Business Case Oversight
• Guide a team to build business cases that clearly define project scope, product requirements, cost targets, pricing strategies, and anticipated demand.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking, obsolescence planning, and lifecycle forecasting.
• Product Development & Design Leadership
• Partner with industrial designers to create best-in-class, aesthetically and functionally compelling products.
• Champion design thinking and innovation throughout the development process.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product feasibility, quality, and efficiency.
• Channel & Go-to-Market Strategy
• Define product and channel strategy to meet the unique needs of DTC, retail, and e-commerce partners.
• Lead cross-functional planning and execution with marketing, creative, sales, finance, and customer service to ensure successful launches and in-market performance.
• Portfolio & Budget Ownership
• Manage product development budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of each product within the portfolio, balancing innovation with margin and operational impact.
  
  

Requirements

• A strategic, design-minded product leader with 10 years of experience developing and launching consumer goods—furniture experience a strong plus.
• Experienced in leading cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle, from concept through commercialization.
• Skilled at developing channel-specific strategies that drive business growth and elevate brand presence.
• Adept at translating consumer insights, trend data, and market research into actionable product plans.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and balancing big-picture thinking with detail-oriented execution.
• Background in brand management is a plus.
• Strong communicator and collaborator with a proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
