Ledegar Roofing Company is seeking a motivated Sheet Metal Shop Fabricator to join our growing team. This is a full-time, shop-based position responsible for fabricating custom sheet metal products while assisting with general shop and yard operations.
As a Sheet Metal Shop Fabricator, you will manufacture custom sheet metal components used on commercial and residential roofing projects. Working from shop drawings and work orders, you’ll operate fabrication equipment to produce high-quality products while helping maintain an organized, efficient, and safe shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom sheet metal components using brakes, shears, rollers, notchers, and other fabrication equipment
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Measure, mark, cut, bend, and assemble sheet metal accurately
- Ensure all fabricated products meet company quality standards and specifications
- Safely operate and maintain shop equipment and tools
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and deliveries
- Pull and stage materials for upcoming jobs
- Perform inventory counts and assist with inventory management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free shop and yard
- Organize materials, equipment, and supplies for efficient workflow
- Assist with general shop maintenance and miscellaneous yard duties as needed
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, and field crews to meet production schedules
Requirements
- Experience in architectural sheet metal fabrication and installation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in the use of sheet metal fabrication equipment (brakes, shears, rollers)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality
- Previous roofing or construction experience
