Essential Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage effective project cost control systems
- Interpret and communicate contractual and commercial terms
- Deliver accurate cost reporting and strategic financial insights to leadership
- Support collective agreement development and execution
- Coordinate invoicing documentation, including statutory declarations and compliance certificates
- Prepare and submit LEM reports, progress billings, invoices, and holdback releases
- Validate third-party invoices and reconcile electronic billing with client systems
- Monitor equipment usage, rental agreements, subcontractors, and ensure contractual compliance
- Support project managers with change orders, payroll coordination, payment resolution, and month-end journal entries
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an operational cost accounting role
- Experience within commercial construction, Telecom or a related industry is preferred
- Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar large ERP is preferred
- Working knowledge of construction methods
- Financial acumen regarding equipment utilization, rates, equipment capital decisions, and profitability analysis
- Working knowledge of construction accounting principles
- Working knowledge of construction software systems
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- This is a hybrid position which will be comprised of some work from home flexibility and in-office attendance
