Essential Responsibilities:
- Operation of a platform drill Cat 6200 and a Sandvik Leopard DI650i
- Operates and understands mechanics of a top head drilling unit equipped with multi-function joy sticks and GPS on a mine site
- Comply with all company, client, legislated safety policies and procedures of drilling in a large open pit surface mine
- Understands the limitations of the drill rig and the performances it can safely provide
- Detects and perform small mechanical repairs to the drill
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members when needed with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Minimum one year’s surface drilling experience using various drilling units
- Would have thorough knowledge of drill patterns and the structure in which they are developed
- MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal ticket is required; training and support is provided to obtain or update certificate as needed
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- 5 days on with 4 days off, working 12 hour days that has the potential to alternate between a day and night shift rotation
- Overtime rates apply after 40 hours per week and are paid at time and a half
- Living out allowance provided for those who qualify

- Work will be primarily outdoors and in various weather conditions
