Essential Responsibilities
- Perform safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of crushing and processing equipment to support production targets at the Borealis surface mine.
- Maintain and service crushing systems and components including jaw/cone crushers, pulleys, belts, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, chutes, and liners.
- Perform welding and cutting tasks as required, including proficiency in MIG and Stick welding processes, as well as Oxy‑Acetylene cutting.
- Complete pre-trip / walkaround inspections and daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA), ensuring hazards are identified and controlled prior to work.
- Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to determine work procedures and diagnose mechanical issues.
- Perform scheduled, preventative, and predictive maintenance (including vibration analysis), and align, test, and adjust equipment to ensure reliable operation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, report and log equipment concerns, and communicate effectively with operations and maintenance teams.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining equipment in an industrial or surface mining environment, with crushing plant experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with crusher maintenance, conveyors, and rotating equipment in a production driven setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with site operations and maintenance crews.
- Ability to meet all site access requirements including respirator fit testing where required
- Successful completion of preemployment drug and alcohol testing.
- MSHA Part 48 (Metal/Non-Metal) certification preferred but training would be made available.
- Various schedules working 10- 12 hour days with the potential for a night shift with overtime after 40 hours/week.
