The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems and take pride in delivering safe, clean, and professional vehicle builds—including applying and removing company decals and branding.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and upfit work trucks, vans, and specialty utility vehicles with racks, tool storage, lighting, safety equipment, and accessories
- Perform 12V/24V electrical work including wiring, switches, relays, strobes, and inverter systems
- Install and remove vehicle decals, wraps, and company branding to maintain a professional fleet appearance
- Modify interiors and exteriors of vehicles to meet operational needs for field crews
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and installation instructions
- Ensure all components are properly mounted, secured, and compliant with safety standards
- Test all installed systems and troubleshoot any issues
- Maintain accurate documentation of upfitting work performed
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Collaborate with fleet, safety, and operations teams to meet project deadlines
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of experience in vehicle upfitting, automotive, electrical, or related field
- Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and mechanical components
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to read technical instructions and wiring diagrams
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience with utility fleet vehicles, bucket trucks, or service trucks
- Familiarity with DOT and safety compliance standards
- Experience with GPS, camera systems, or telematics installation
- Vinyl decal or wrap installation/removal experience
- Welding or light fabrication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing
- Ability to work in shop and outdoor environments
- Shop-based role with exposure to vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Fast-paced environment supporting active field operations
