What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Technician position at LeChase Construction?
POSITION SUMMARY
This individual is responsible for general maintenance/handyman type repairs and porter duties for assigned facilities and performs related duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete assigned general maintenance work orders in timely fashion.
- Complete grounds maintenance duties as assigned.
- Assist with room set-ups as required.
- Assist with furniture and staff moves as required.
- Coordinate and the efficient use of labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors/suppliers to secure safe, high-quality facility at minimum cost in accordance with the LeChase Fundamental Requirements.
- Conduct periodic building inspections, document, and follow up as needed.
- Ensure that all required paperwork is filled out accurately, correctly and submitted in a timely manner.
- Coordinate, cooperate and assist subcontractors, suppliers, and others. Maintain good working relationships.
- Maintain appropriate communications with the Facilities Manager.
- Monitor subcontractors when required.
- Observe safety work practices and maintain good housekeeping.
- Ensure that all required paperwork is filled out accurately, correctly and turned in timely. The required paperwork includes time sheets with cost codes, accident reports, field purchase orders, work orders, etc.
- Follow, enforce, and adhere to the Corporate Fundamental Requirements.
- Communicate with other LeChase Facilities Management staff to garner and share ideas to help in problem solving.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- 2 years of related experience strongly preferred.
- Skills/Competencies:
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities maintenance.
- Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand tools and electric power tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented with strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
