What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Grounds Keeper position at Lebanon Valley Family YMCA?

Job Type: Seasonal Part Time (18 and older)
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age; at least one year out of high school preferred
- Ability to work 2-3 full days per week or 4-5 half days per week
- Friday afternoons high preferred to assist with weekly breakdown/clean up
- Prior experience with grounds tools, such as lawn mowers, weed-whackers, small power tools and hand tools preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- CPR and First Aid Certification (Required or willingness to train on camp)
- Previous experience working around youth preferred
- Attitude of service and a commitment to Camp and its vision, mission and core values
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Must be responsible, trustworthy and reliable.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to travel over rough and rocky ground
- Ability to use computer and phone
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Responsibilities:
- Works on assigned projects, and makes appropriate decisions based on work experience and individual skills; notifies supervisors of repair problems beyond their scope
- Perform specialized camp grounds maintenance including: watering, mowing and weeding, cleaning up trash and debris, trims trees and shrubs, loads and hauls materials;
- Clean buildings as assigned: vacuuming, sweeping, toilets, and emptying garbage.
- Completes daily work log, incident and accident report, and requisitions for supplies and materials
- Follows all safety rules and regulations to minimize risk and enhance the safety of employees, campers and visitors
- At all times demonstrate behavior consistent with the YMCA’s Core Values and the goals of YCRC.
- Other duties as assigned
