MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Criminal history clearance.
  • Have a standard of moral character as required of teachers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability through a formal state or local academic assessment.
  • Oral and written skills in targeted language(s) as verified through formal state or local assessments.
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License and evidence of insurance.

HOURS:

3.75 hrs./day

Monday - Friday


BEGINNING DATE:

August 19, 2026

$15.22 - $19.76 hr. - Placement determined by experience per the negotiated LESPA Contract.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate services in the District’s Welcome Center. Emphasis will be placed on enrolling new students in the district and connecting families to necessary resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Acts as a liaison between the District Welcome Center and community partners.
  • Assists families new to the district in enrolling their students in district schools.
  • Identifies special programs and services for students new to the district.
  • Facilitates a smooth transition into school for students new to the district.
  • Coordinates the McKinney-Vento Children and Youth program throughout the district.
  • Coordinates services to families and students in need throughout the district
  • Maintains records of pertinent Welcome Center related information.
  • Coordinates the duties and schedules of Welcome Center volunteers.
  • Researches and cultivates relationships with individual and corporate donors and community agencies for the solicitation of in-kind goods.
  • Communicates with potential donors regarding items to be donated as well as delivery of said items.
  • Monitors the donation room(s) to ensure organization and cleanliness.
  • Responds to inquiries, phone calls, and e-mail in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Works harmoniously with others and communicates effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, and staff.
  • Frequent and prolonged talking/hearing conversations.
