Leavitt Family Medicine is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Specialist to join our team in a dynamic dental clinic environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing clerical tasks, and supporting the administrative operations of the clinic. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they enter our facility.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Verify insurance information and assist patients with any related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and files in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Utilize EMR software for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and care.
  • Collaborate with staff to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and other patient needs.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Other tasks as needed in medical clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in patient service or medical administrative support preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
  • Proficient in clerical skills including typing, filing, and data management.
  • Experience with insurance verification processes is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly eclinicalworks is advantageous.
