Position Summary:

Under limited supervision, handle, allocate, and transfer material, equipment, kits, supplies, and shortages that are required and conducive to maintaining an efficient material flow through storage, receiving, packaging, and shipping areas. Maintain inventory accuracy within ERP systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive and put away materials from purchase orders, transfer orders, and warehouse transfers.
  • Accurately process requests for inventory and company shipments for cross dock of material to individuals and vendors.
  • Physically load, transfer, and unload materials to and from storage, receiving, warranty, maintenance, machining, suppliers, shipping, packaging, etc. including different buildings using material handling equipment and/or company vehicle (24-foot truck).
  • Perform transactions in ERP system to maintain accurate and timely inventory data including location replenishment & cycle counts according to work instructions and/or training. Support problem solving when discrepancies are identified.
  • Perform AQL audit of packaged product and packed shipments. Provide daily summary of results.
  • Locate materials and expedite part shortages that may be required for completion of orders maximize labor & capacity utilization.
  • Ensure Kanban cards flow properly through their respective loops and support problem solving when issues are identified.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including quality, sourcing, suppliers, and manufacturing to address any issues with materials.

Additional Functions:

  • Perform packaging, shipping, and laser engraving tasks as needed.

Experience and Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three or more years material handling or combined packaging and warehouse experience required.
  • Must be able to utilize small hand tools and operate materials handling equipment including forklifts, skids, pallet handlers, hand trucks, and other similar equipment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret MSDS’s, work instructions, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to effectively utilize basic math skills required.
  • Requires a forklift license, internal training available as required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software skills (Word, Excel, & Outlook) and Microsoft Dynamics AX experience preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit; use hands to handle, grasp, or keyboard; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee occasionally stands or walks; climbs; stoops or crouches; and pushes/pulls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 5 lbs., and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 55 lbs. The employee frequently pushes/pulls an average of 40 lbs., and occasionally pushes/pulls up to 70 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Working Conditions/Physical Hazards

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment, and occasionally exposed to production environment. Work area is well lit and air conditioned. All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required. Position can be hybrid or in-office setting based on business need. Employees working hybrid must be flexible to work in-office as required for work assignments, meetings, etc.
