The Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA) is the national trade association representing the U.S. leather manufacturing and hide exporting industry. We work at the intersection of international trade, sustainability, government policy, and global market development. Our mission is highly visible, requiring exceptional operational execution across global stakeholders, government agencies, members, and industry partners.


The Opportunity

The Executive Assistant serves as the strategic operational partner to the President and Vice President/Operations while coordinating execution across the organization. This is not a task-completion role. You will own workflows end-to-end, anticipating needs, building systems, and resolving problems before they land on leadership's desk, ensuring leadership can focus on strategy. Your output directly determines the effectiveness of our organization


Key Responsibilities

Executive Assistant

  • Manage executive calendars and competing priorities.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, visas, itineraries, and expense compliance.
  • Prepare agendas, executive briefings, correspondence, and decision-support materials.
  • Record and distribute Board of Directors, Executive Committee, leadership, and company meeting minutes with action-item tracking.
  • Develop executive-quality PowerPoint and Canva presentations for Board meetings, government briefings, conferences, member communications, and strategic initiatives.
  • Translate complex information into polished visual presentations and reports.
  • Protect executive time while ensuring critical initiatives move forward.

Organizational Operations

  • Maintain the master organizational calendar.
  • Coordinate Board, committee, and leadership meetings.
  • Provide visibility into organizational priorities and deadlines.

Project & Program Management

  • Coordinate annual meetings, trade missions, research initiatives, government affairs, education programs, and strategic projects.
  • Track milestones, ownership, deliverables, and follow-up.

Financial Administration

  • Coordinate invoices, reimbursements, budgets, and expense reporting.
  • Liaise with bookkeeping and accounting partners.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; QuickBooks experience is a strong plus.

Communications & Workflow

  • Build efficient workflows using Google Workspace, AI tools, and project management software.
  • Improve communication and documentation across staff, committees, Board members, and external stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required

  • 5 years executive support/operations
  • Executive communication skills
  • International travel coordination
  • Google Workspace, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva
  • Project management & AI tools
  • Absolute discretion
