Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver medical items between clinics, labs, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities
- Load and unload medical specimens, supplies, and equipment efficiently using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
- Verify delivery details, obtain signatures, and ensure proper documentation for all shipments
- Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, mileage, and delivery times in compliance with company policies
- Follow designated routes diligently while adapting to traffic conditions to meet scheduled delivery times
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates or issues encountered during deliveries
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving or courier services, preferably within a healthcare or medical environment
- Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and healthcare staff
- Warehouse experience including load & unload procedures, heavy lifting, moving supplies, and operating equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving box trucks or similar vehicles with manual transmission is preferred
- Knowledge of route driving strategies to optimize efficiency and punctuality
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting and moving medical supplies safely
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple deliveries accurately and on time
