Overview
For over 50 years, Learning Tree Preschool & Childcare has been serving families in the Portage area, welcoming children from just 6 weeks old up to age 12. We are currently seeking an infant and Toddler Lead or co-teachers to join our team. Our center is moving toward a 3:1 caregiver-to-infant ratio and a 5:1 caregiver-to toddler ratio, an improvement from the previous 4:1 ratio in our infant room and 6:1 in our toddler room.
As an Infant and Toddler Teacher, your passion for nurturing young children will help shape their earliest learning experiences. In this rewarding role, you will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and toddlers, fostering curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth. Your dedication will inspire a love of learning from the very beginning and support families in their care-giving journey.
Duties
- Care & Safety: Providing routine care (diapering, feeding, napping) and ensuring a hygienic, secure environment.
- Developmental Support: Planning activities that build language, motor skills, social-emotional growth, and independence.
- Observation & Responsiveness: Tuning into each child's cues, needs, and interests to offer personalized learning.
- Relationship Building: Fostering trust with infants and forming strong, communicative partnerships with families.
- Curriculum Implementation: Following educational goals and frameworks (like Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards) through play-based learning.
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar early childhood settings
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement
- Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure immediate response to emergencies
- Ability to work effectively with children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or additional support for disabilities
- Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with children and families
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices, care-giving techniques, and behavior management strategies

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
