- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment progress notes, and therapy outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and adapt intervention strategies as needed.
- Educate clients and their families about communication disorders and provide guidance on exercises or activities to support ongoing improvement at home or school.
- Assist in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring specialized support.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in pediatric settings such as schools or early intervention programs.
- Hands-on experience providing speech therapy in acute care hospitals or similar healthcare environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with school-based services and understanding of IEP processes is essential for success in this role.
- Knowledge of physiology related to speech production and swallowing functions is required to accurately assess and treat clients.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to communication disorders enhances your ability to deliver effective care.
- Prior experience working with students who have diverse needs—including those with developmental delays or neurological conditions—is preferred.
