What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Director position at Learning to Learn Preschool & Childcare Center?
Learning to Learn Preschool & Childcare Center has been operating in Rohnert Park since 1984. Our play-based programs serve children 2 years old through 5 years old and are designed to support the development of the whole child. The school curriculum focuses on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical skills of our students. Learning to Learn is a fun and lively environment to work in. The school actively engages in the surrounding community and promotes building partnerships with current and past families.
The primary duties of the Director are those which have to do with maintaining the quality of the program and overseeing staff.
The responsibilities of the Director will include, but are not limited to
- Supervision and hiring of teaching staff, creation of staff schedules, and management of classroom programs
- Will be responsible for the safety of the children and upholding all health, safety and licensing regulations within the facility
- Plan the yearly Center Calendar
- Implement staff meetings, in-service days, and trainings
- Plan and supervise special events and fundraisers
- Supervise the implementation of the curriculum, snack and lunch programs, and conduct continual observation and evaluation of the children’s program
- Manage enrollment of children, disciplinary plans, and work with outside agencies to support children’s success
- Maintain facility and child records
- Communicate with parents and maintain an active system of parent/school relationships
- Operate the school within budget and manage supply, food, and classroom material purchases
- Maintain financial records and submit monthly financial statements to bookkeeper
- Work with outside vendors to maintain the facility
Qualifications
An BA or AA in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, a minimum of two years of teaching experience, a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, and 3 units in school administration. Previous bookkeeping experience is preferred. Personal skills in dealing with children, parents, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner. Possess leadership qualities and the ability to motivate staff to reach their potential. Have the ability to provide an environment which is nurturing to both children and staff.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $71,000.00 per year
