What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Assistant - Part Time position at Learning Play Daycare?
We are currently seeking a responsible, caring and enthusiastic daycare assistant to work Part-time at a home-based daycare. You must be PUNCTUAL, reliable, professional, dependable, trustworthy, and patient. MUST LOVE working with children from 3 months - 5 yrs old. Must be able to multi-task and complete daily responsibilities in a timely manner.
Must be flexible with your schedule and can work any of these shifts:
- 7:00am - 5:30pm (Part-time hours as needed)
- 12:00pm - 2:30pm (Need to cover the lunch break during these hours)
- We operate - Monday thru Friday
- This is a part-time position, You will need to be able to work flexible hours 3-5 days a week.
Must have at least 2 years of daycare experience. Must like working with children, able to plan daily activities including art and craft, prepare lesson plans, outdoor play, prepare and serve meals. Must change diapers and potty train. Keep a clean and neat daycare setting.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older,
- Speak, read and write English (Bilingual is also ok)
- Must have 2 years minimum or more working in a daycare or educational setting (3 references as proof).
- Must be willing to complete and pass a NYS background check, Fingerprints, recent medical physical
- First Aid and CPR certified or willing to become certified/ Must be able to attend continuing education trainings
- 3 References are required (2 work references and 1 personal reference)
- Must be flexible, reliable, and PUNCTUAL. (no exceptions)
- Must be friendly, self-motivated and always upbeat. You must have experience working with children and have the patience, personality and energy necessary to work in a daycare setting
- Must be able to keep a clean and professional appearance withing the daycare setting
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO :
- Provide supervision and safety at all times for children ages 3 months to 5 years old
- Creating a warm, loving, welcoming, nurturing and safe environment for all children
- Assumes responsibility for implementing the daily lesson plans, assisting in classroom management, and providing direction and guidance in play based learning environment
- Assist with curriculum-based activities. Must be creative and able to implement fun activities and crafts for children of all ages
-Maintain a safe, clean and healthy daycare environment
- Prepares and serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to the planned menu; clean up afterward including high chairs, tables, and sweeping of floors.
- Assisting in spoon feeding and bottle feeding
- Attend to the personal care of children such as, but not limited to: diaper changing, potty training, etc
- Maintain the cleanliness of daycare area such as but not limited to: cleaning of high chairs, chairs, tables, toys, bathroom, sweeping, moping, vacuuming, dishes
- Managing daily attendance records as well as daily sheets to be sent home with children.
- Communicating appropriately with parents/guardians, and co-workers.
