What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Program Aid position at Learning Never Ends?

At Learning Never Ends (LNE) we work with adults with developmental disabilities in our centers to provide opportunities to further their learning, explore their creativity, and experience events and activities in the community. Your week will include both in-center activities and community based outings.
In center activities can include: art class, therapeutic programs including yoga and chair aerobics, wood shop, money management classes, book club, self advocacy classes, gardening, and many more.
Outings in the community can include: dance classes, zoo trips, movies, shopping, dining, and sporting events.
We also offer special events on the weekend for all LNE locations to participate in together! They include themed dances, karaoke, movies, art events, and LNE and CATCO collaborative plays.
Responsibilities of a Day Program Instructor
- All Day Program Instructors are required to drive a route with assigned consumers they will transport in the morning to day program and home from day program. Routes usually start around 7:30 AM and most end by 4:30 PM. Instructors are also required to provide transportation to community-based activities. All vehicles are 15-passenger buses and vans.
- Provide supervision and guidance to each consumer in accordance with his/her Individual Service Plan
- Administer medications where indicated and appropriate
- Provide physical assistance as needed, including but not limited to, personal care, housekeeping and transportation

Day Program Instructor Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current and valid Driver License with less than 6 points on driving record
- Working and safe motor vehicle, maintaining minimum of State required insurance coverage
- No felony convictions as identified and outlined by the Ohio Revised Code
License/Certification:
