Middle School ELA Teacher - Immediate Opening

Now Hiring Middle School ELA Teacher

This position reports to the Principal

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Follow the rules and procedures outlined in the staff handbook

 Create and implement an individual Growth Plan each year

 Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities

 Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in

 Meet course and school-wide student performance goals

 Know the Florida Standards for the position and implement

 Participate in ongoing environmental, subject, technology and classroom management

training

 Create and submit monthly curriculum maps individualized to the class

 Maintain grade book on Canvas

 Grade student work and return scores in a timely manner

 Use Canvas as the class website and keep it updated

 Create projects designed to enhance lectures and learning experiences

 Read and stay abreast of current topics in education

 Utilize various curriculum resources

 Incorporate Environmental Education into the classroom regardless of the grade level or

subject taught

 Develop and maintain professional relationships and cohorts

 Locate and utilize public resources

 Work with administrators to ensure procedures and policies are being met

 Prepare whole group, small group and individual instruction as needed

 Actively participate in the MTSS process and collect and complete data

 Responsible for implementing accommodations from IEP’s and 504 Plans

 Observe, evaluate and report student performance

 Manage student behavior in the classroom

 Implement SEL curriculum within the classroom

 Hold parent/teacher meetings at least 2x a year

 Communicate with parents when a student has a grade that falls under a C

 Plan field trips using the approved guidelines

 Report and document all incidents and accidents on the appropriate forms

 Report and document any dangers on the school campus to maintenance

 Adhere to all due dates and deadlines by the school district as well as ones provided by

the LG Principal

 Promote all school fundraising

 Project a positive attitude

 Arrive to work on time

 Comply with any other requests made by the Principal

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Teaching Certification (Required)
