Security Officer Overview
Job Summary-We are looking for an individual with a State of Florida Class D Security License that has experience enforcing perimeter security. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with the temporary residents as needed.

Responsibilities of a Security Officer
· Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings
· Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
· Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of students and staff to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
· Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
· Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
· Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or by obtaining assistance from paramedics.
· Confront individuals who do not belong on the premises and escort them beyond the perimeter.
· Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
Minimum Qualifications/Special Requirements/Success Factors
· High School/ GED Diploma
· Class D Security License
· 2 years of experience preferred
Applicants will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment and may be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol and monitor premises regularly to maintain a safe and secure environment
- Prevent and deter unauthorized access to the property
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
- Conduct security checks of the premises, including locking doors and windows
- Monitor surveillance cameras and report any suspicious activities or incidents
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain daily activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary
Skills:
- Conflict management: Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively
- Loss prevention: Knowledge of techniques to prevent theft, vandalism, and other losses
- Surveillance: Proficient in monitoring security cameras and identifying potential threats
- CCTV operation: Experience in operating closed-circuit television systems
- Military experience: Previous military service or training is a plus
- CPR certification: Knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques
- Law enforcement background: Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and protocols
- First aid: Ability to administer basic first aid in case of emergencies
