What are the responsibilities and job description for the Remote SAT Tutor position at LearnHaus?
We’re looking for tutors who can help high school students improve through structured weekly prep, mistake-pattern review, assigned practice, and clear accountability. This is not a generic homework-help role. Students need a clear plan, consistent follow-through, and practical Digital SAT strategy.
What you’ll do:
- Tutor students 1:1 online via our learnhaus platform
- Help build weekly SAT prep plans based on score reports and diagnostics
- Teach SAT Math and/or Reading & Writing
- Review missed questions and identify mistake patterns
- Assign targeted practice between sessions
- Help students with pacing, timing, and test strategy
- Write short session summaries after each session
- Communicate clearly and professionally with LearnHaus and, when needed, parents
Strong fit if you:
- Scored 1450 on the SAT or equivalent ACT
- Are especially strong in SAT Math
- Have tutoring or teaching experience
- Can explain concepts clearly online
- Are comfortable holding students accountable without being harsh
- Can write concise, useful session notes
- Are reliable with scheduling and communication
Nice to have:
- Prior SAT/ACT tutoring experience
- Experience with College Board Bluebook practice tests
- Ability to tutor both SAT Math and Reading/Writing
- Experience helping students who need structure and motivation
Logistics:
- Remote / online only
- US-based preferred
- Independent contractor role
- Flexible part-time hours
- Typical student load: 1–2 students to start
- Sessions are usually evenings or weekends
- Pay based on experience and tutor band
