What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driving Instructor position at Learn to Drive?
After working with a top driving school in Phoenix for several years, owner Jeff founded Learn to Drive in 2020. His experience as a driving instructor showed him that spending hours with a student behind the wheel presented a great opportunity to positively impact their first driving experience—beyond just learning the rules of the road. Jeff’s many years coaching youth sports have also given him valuable insight into leading and teaching, which remains one of his greatest passions.
Our goal is not only to teach people how to drive but also to cultivate meaningful relationships in the community. Unlike many larger schools, we offer flexibility and work at each student’s pace, meeting them where they are in the learning process.

Responsibilities
- Provide driving instruction to students of all ages and skill levels
- Teach students the rules of the road and safe driving practices
- Conduct in-car training sessions to help students develop their driving skills
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
Requirements
- Professional Driver Training Instructor Certificate/willingness to become certified and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patient and calm demeanor, especially when working with nervous or inexperienced drivers
- Strong commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and reliability
