Duties
- Provide direct patient care across medical-surgical and telemetry units, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and utilize telemetry systems to detect arrhythmias or other cardiac events promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and medication management per physician orders
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and vital signs assessments to evaluate patient status regularly
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, patient education, and post-hospital care instructions
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of employment with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Proven experience in medical-surgical nursing with exposure to telemetry monitoring; ICU or critical care experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient management
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to inpatient care settings
- Ability to perform advanced skills including IV insertion, suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile procedures
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
