Job Description:
Learn and Play Childcare in Mineola is seeking dedicated and passionate Full-Time Assistant Teachers to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. You will assist with daily classroom activities, help maintain routines, and ensure the well-being and development of all children in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curricula and activities.
- Assist with classroom management and daily routines (meals, nap time, transitions, toileting).
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Supervise children during play and learning activities to ensure safety.
- Foster positive relationships with children and encourage social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with parents and guardians.
- Follow OCFS (Office of Children and Family Services) regulations and center policies at all times.
- Assist with setting up activities, materials, and classroom displays.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed a CDA (Child Development Associate) or a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Psychology, Sociology, or Education.
- Basic understanding of OCFS regulations and childcare requirements.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from Lead Teachers.
- Passionate about early childhood education and child development.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
Flexible hours: 12pm-7pm
