Learn And Play Child Development Center in Alamogordo, NM is looking for one child care director assistant to join our 26 person strong team. We are located on 700 East 1st Street Suite 766. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and engaged.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff.
• Create staff schedules and manage time-off requests.
• Conduct staff meetings and provide ongoing training.
• Ensure staff receive the required annual training hours.
• Maintain positive staff relations and uphold personnel policies.
• Oversee and maintain all required records and files for children, staff, and licensing.
• Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and compliant with all state and local licensing regulations.
• Order and maintain supplies, equipment, and food.
• Ensure emergency plans and drills are conducted regularly.

Qualifications

• Education: A bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is preferred, associate's degree combined with experience may be possible.
• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in childcare or a leadership role is necessary, with experience managing a center or team being a key factor.
• Leadership: Ability to manage staff, motivate teams, and lead in a crisis.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, parents, and the community.
• Organizational: Excellent time management, problem-solving, and administrative skills.
• Interpersonal: The ability to build and maintain relationships with parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
