Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Area Construction Manager - Heavy Civil Construction in Flower Mound, TX. The Area Construction Manager leads the overall operational performance and successful execution of heavy civil construction projects within an assigned region. This role provides direct oversight and mentorship to construction management teams while ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations.

Annual Salary: $200,000 to $300,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for Construction Operations Managers and Project Managers.
  • Oversee the operational, financial, and scheduling performance of multiple heavy civil construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Champion and enforce the Corporate Safety Program and a safety-first culture across all assigned regional projects.
  • Collaborate with operations management to effectively allocate personnel, equipment, and resources across project sites.
  • Support the delivery of complex projects including Design-Build, Construction Management, and hard bid project types.
  • Develop and review project work plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and key performance indicators.
  • Review and negotiate owner contracts, subcontract agreements, and change orders while managing project risks.
  • Lead constructability reviews and collaborate with engineering and design teams during the project development phase.
  • Manage client relationships and participate in meetings with owners, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to pursuit strategies for future heavy civil construction opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive heavy civil construction experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience, including leadership of project teams and multiple projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience managing heavy civil infrastructure such as dams, water resources, bridges, or hydraulic structures.
  • Strong understanding of Design-Build, Construction Management, and traditional project delivery methods.
  • Working knowledge of project controls, procurement strategies, and construction financial management.
  • Proficiency with construction scheduling software, including Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and drive operational excellence across a portfolio of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance based on successful background check results.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and climb or balance.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to travel with luggage and transport personal overnight supplies for site visits.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $200,000 to $300,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
