Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in Heavy Civil Construction to oversee large-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and proficiency with advanced project management and construction software. This role involves coordinating multiple teams, managing project schedules, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards. The Project Manager will play a critical role in maintaining safety, compliance, and client satisfaction throughout project execution. The Project Manager will report directly to the President.
Duties
- Lead and coordinate all phases of heavy civil construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
- Prepare and review construction estimates utilizing estimating tools to establish budgets and resource allocation.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial reporting tools.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and contracts to facilitate accurate construction activities.
- Monitor project progress through regular site visits, ensuring work complies with design documents and quality standards.
- Oversee contract administration, change orders, and documentation to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with legal requirements.
- Utilize ProCore, Sage 300 CRE, and other construction software for project documentation, scheduling updates, and communication.
- Coordinate with engineers, clients, and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly while maintaining project momentum.
- Ensure safety standards are enforced on-site through regular inspections and team training sessions.

- Strong blueprint reading skills along with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Excellent contract management skills including familiarity with contracts administration and change order processes.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance standards related to heavy civil projects. Working familiarity with federal, state (CA), and local governmental agencies.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive company financial information.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Project Management or Civil Engineering (Preferred but not required)
- Proven experience in project management, five plus (5 ) years preferred but not required
- Two years of on-the-ground construction experience preferred (foreman, laborer, operator, etc.)
- Needs foundational accounting experience focusing on project-based financial tracking, budgeting, and cost control.
- Experience with multiple projects involving public infrastructure improvements (including highways, bridges, wetlands, emergency work after storms, etc.)
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
