Job Summary

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing detailed diagnostics, routine maintenance, and high-quality repairs on residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. You will act as a technical advisor in the field—safely evaluating customer systems, explaining repair vs. replacement options honestly, and performing the precision mechanical work required to ensure system efficiency and safety.

Essential Job Duties

• Troubleshooting & Repair: Perform complex diagnostics on standard split systems, heat pumps, furnaces (gas and electric), and ductless mini-splits to identify mechanical, electrical, or refrigerant issues.

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct thorough seasonal tune-ups and system cleanings to optimize performance and prevent future breakdowns.

• Customer Advisory: Clearly communicate diagnostic findings to homeowners and commercial clients, offering transparent repair solutions without using high-pressure sales tactics.

• Property Care: Execute all service calls using protective shoe covers and drop cloths, ensuring the customer's property is left clean and undamaged.

• Field Documentation: Manage digital invoices, document system readings, and track truck inventory accurately using a company tablet.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 2 years of residential or commercial HVAC troubleshooting and service experience.

• Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (required to drive our company vehicle).

• Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification is required.

• Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• NATE Certification.

• Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs. routinely throughout the day.

• Comfort working in tight or confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics) and outdoor environments across changing Kentucky weather.

• Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders and step stools as required by the job site.
