Job Summary
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing detailed diagnostics, routine maintenance, and high-quality repairs on residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. You will act as a technical advisor in the field—safely evaluating customer systems, explaining repair vs. replacement options honestly, and performing the precision mechanical work required to ensure system efficiency and safety.
Essential Job Duties
Troubleshooting & Repair: Perform complex diagnostics on standard split systems, heat pumps, furnaces (gas and electric), and ductless mini-splits to identify mechanical, electrical, or refrigerant issues.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct thorough seasonal tune-ups and system cleanings to optimize performance and prevent future breakdowns.
Customer Advisory: Clearly communicate diagnostic findings to homeowners and commercial clients, offering transparent repair solutions without using high-pressure sales tactics.
Property Care: Execute all service calls using protective shoe covers and drop cloths, ensuring the customer's property is left clean and undamaged.
Field Documentation: Manage digital invoices, document system readings, and track truck inventory accurately using a company tablet.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 2 years of residential or commercial HVAC troubleshooting and service experience.
Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (required to drive our company vehicle).
Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification is required.
Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
NATE Certification.
Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs. routinely throughout the day.
Comfort working in tight or confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics) and outdoor environments across changing Kentucky weather.
Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders and step stools as required by the job site.
