At Leap Orbit, we don’t just build technology—we build the foundation for better, safer, and more connected healthcare.About the Role: The ideal candidate is a self-motivated junior to mid-level Data Engineer with experience in health data, reporting and analytics, and Azure cloud technologies. This role will work collaboratively within a small, distributed team to address complex challenges in the healthcare sector. The candidate will be actively involved in the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of backend data pipelines as well as client-facing analytics solutions.What You'll be Doing:Design, construct, test, and maintain highly scalable data management and analytic systems.Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of conceptsDevelop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production.Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.Create custom software components and analytics applications.Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry systems together.Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.Collaborate with data and enterprise architects, software engineers, and IT team members on project goals.Requirements:Business Intelligence certificate, Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent education and/or work experience1-2 of relevant experience in data engineeringProficiency with Power BI developmentProficiency in SQL and PythonExperience with Azure cloud servicesExperience with data pipeline and workflow management toolsExperience with data analysisExperience with Microsoft Fabric and Data LakesExperience with GitAbility to work productively from homeBackground check requiredPreferred Qualifications:Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Microsoft FabricKnowledge of healthcare and life sciences industry challengesExperience with health data, reporting and analyticsPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Data Engineer position.While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:Sit for extended periods while working at a computer or workstation.Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.Occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift office materials weighing up to 20 pounds.This position primarily operates in a remote work environment that requires regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and virtual communication tools.
