Our Facilities & Operations Coordinator will support the safe and efficient operation of our Children's Center sites. This role is a hands-on position that combines maintenance and repair work with vendor management and project coordination. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in keeping facilities running smoothly, and thrives in a role that balances physical work with administrative responsibilities.
You will:
- Perform routine repairs and maintenance (basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, general upkeep).
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to complete work orders and projects.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and deliver materials between sites.
- Oversee small facilities projects, ensuring timelines and safety standards are met.
- Support daily operations, including kitchen/food service compliance, health & safety requirements, and event logistics.
- Provide occasional office support (answering phones, greeting families, assisting staff).
The ideal candidate:
- Hands-on handyman/maintenance experience (required).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with trade and construction vendors and coordinating projects.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks indoors and outdoors.
- Basic computer proficiency (basic email, spreadsheets, recordkeeping).
- Microsoft – Outlook, Word, Excel
- Spanish bilingual
- CA Driver's License
- Satisfactory background check
Preferred
- Previous facilities or maintenance experience in childcare, education, nonprofit, or multi-site settings.
- Familiarity with California health and safety standards.
- Spanish bilingual

Hours/Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week; 7:00am to 4:00pm

LEAP provides a continuum of care to the children and families throughout the Goleta Valley and Lompoc. We believe that every child deserves to be loved, valued and respected and that every family should be supported to reach its highest potential. To fulfill this goal, we offer high quality childcare for 134 children ages 3 months – 5 years and a Family Resource Center which helps families access the services and support they need including but not limited to – food access, health care, counseling, parenting workshops, budgeting workshops and immigration information. Together with our partners, LEAP is helping prepare children for success in school and is strengthening families for a healthy, prosperous and resilient community.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must pass the DOJ/FBI/Child Abuse Index fingerprint process.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and tuberculosis clearance.
- Show verification for the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) and the Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (DTaP) vaccinations.
SALARY
