Program Description

LEAP for Education supports youth in their personal, educational, and career growth by partnering with the community to increase opportunities and advance equity. We operate two Career and Education Centers - one in Lynn and one in Salem - offering programs that equip youth with the skills and resources to successfully navigate high school and post-secondary pathways.

The LEAP Community Resource Associate is a School Year Short-Term position that supports the daily operations, logistics, and administrative functioning of LEAP Centers during the academic year. This position helps ensure centers are organized, welcoming, responsive, and operationally prepared to support youth programming, student engagement, and community activities. The Associate serves as a frontline support role responsible for maintaining day-to-day center functionality, assisting with program logistics, supporting administrative processes, and helping create a positive and professional environment for students, families, staff, and partners.

* During the summer months, LEAP Community Resource Associates are eligible to transition into the Summer Program Specialist role supporting expanded Summer Work Program implementation and operations.

Site Operations & Center Coverage

  • Open, prepare, and maintain LEAP Center spaces for daily programming
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for youth, staff, and partners
  • Manage room setup, breakdown, and transitions between activities
  • Support daily scheduling flow and space coordination
  • Monitor shared spaces and support student movement and supervision
  • Maintain center readiness throughout the day

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Support attendance documentation and basic data entry
  • Prepare materials, print resources, and organize program supplies
  • Assist with communication distribution (reminders, flyers, schedules)
  • Maintain organized operational systems and records
  • Support youth dismissal procedures

Student Engagement & Center Culture

  • Serve as a welcoming, professional presence within the LEAP Center
  • Support positive youth engagement and reinforce center expectations
  • Assist with student supervision during structured and unstructured time
  • Facilitate or support enrichment programming as assigned — such as Youth Leadership Council sessions, Enrichment labs, or clubs.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred
  • Experience working with youth, in community programs, education, or customer service preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a youth-centered, community-based environment
  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace or similar tools
